Mission Statement
iChange is a movement that works to promote Virginia Tech’s motto, “Invent the Future” by supporting innovation and empowering students to play a major role in making change on campus. With the implementation of a series of contests, the iChange team hopes to find the aspects of Virginia Tech that the student body feels could be improved. Subsequent to defining these aspects, iChange will also take action to implement its own initiatives, which have been proposed by members of the student body. One initiative will be proposed, thoroughly planned, and then be implemented by a student (or student organization) contest winner. The winner will be given a budget and necessary resources to put their vision of how to improve Virginia Tech into reality. iChange will further support innovation by sponsoring events that exhibit the innovative projects that are being carried out at Virginia Tech.
Our Story
iChange is SGA's newest program that was created to confront previously unaddressed needs of the students. WE will serve as a bridge between the students and administration. At times it may feel difficult for students as individuals to do something and really make a difference so iChange was created as a place for students to not just have their voices heard, but to actually have the chance to implement these ideas as they develop. Our success is highly dependent on your input. We are a resource for YOU, so it is extremely important that every student understands that we are here to help/serve you in anyway we can. Throughout the year, we will encourage you to voice your opinions on varying issues and ideas through different contests. But, if you have any additional concerns you can always email us; we'd love to hear from you.
